Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Can they really strip him of the wins? I know everyone thinks he's guilty but if he never failed a drugs test and isn't going to admit to it, how are they going to prove it?

WADA recognises USADAs authority. WADA has the power.

UCI will challenge any decision (I think). This will rumble on for quite a bit longer.

I'm not even sure I do think he's guilty. And I can't see how the US governing body can strip him of any titles. Not their titles, not their jurisdiction. There seems to be something a bit rotten about USADA in all this.

There are drug tests. They're not foolproof, but if somebody has never failed one and all your evidence is "some blokes said they seen him do it" then I'd suggest you have no case.

JohnnyO, WADA need to think very carefully about the precedent they'd be setting. THey havce pretty clear and transparent procedures and rules. Trial by embittered former colleagues and rivals is not part of those procedures or rules as far as I can tell.

But haven't all the people that said he was doping been done for doping themselves? Is it possible that they are just saying he's guilty because of pressure that was put on them? I just can't see how they have any real evidence.
