Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I've seen 28 while monitored up sitting on the sofa waiting for the rain to stop before going out for a long run, 33 is more usual though. I have to get up in stages after lying on the floor.

My resting heart rate is 42. It falls with sedation to lower levels the record is 20 something , anaesthetist told me he was scared by that! Usually sedation sends it to 35. I had to take steroids for a year. Weird I could not raise my heart rate while running- before steroids would run along happily at 165 for a couple of hours on sterioids max heart 120!

Stopping steroids very hard stopped finally in Oct 2011 running heart rate is just starting to be about 160. My resting pulse remained 42 through out except when ill when it climbed to 48.

Heart rate dropped to35 and weight gone up - thyroxine needs to be increased! It will take ages to get the weight off.

Crikey. Looks like most people on this thread have very low resting heart rates considering the average is 70-80. My average is usually 45-50. I think my record low is 38.

I remember being disappointed that my RHR is about 63, being a fairly fit ultra runner, size 8, BMI 18. My stepdad thought is was hilarious that he is very overweight and very unfit and has a RHR of 45.

The doesn't seem to be any consistency with the numbers at all.
