Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Apparently some of us have some opinions on this.

And half of them are wrong, no matter what our own opinion is. And we know this absilutely because the ones that are wrong are not the same as ours.

And we make judgements about the people who don't share our correct view.

Some of us even write for a leading right-wing journal, IIRC.

But by engaging and mature and open debate we can often persuede others of the validity of our position. This clearly happens a lot otherwise people would simply stop debating, right?

Not sure what the Apprentices will be doing tonight.

A suggestion I would make is to get them to create a branding campaign for Corbyn that has to be pitched to a room full of people with at least a maths GCSE.

Can this thread have a Deathmatch with the Nasty Party and UKIP threads?

I was thinking that this could be a place for both of them to lead, since the titles of the two current politics threads are misleading.

But I don't want to force people into it. Not my thing.

As the Nasty Party is supposedly about the Tories and UKIP is ... er .... about UKIP, shouldn't there be, for BBC style balance a Little Red Corbette thread for Labour and one about whoever is in charge of the Lib Dems these days?

Name-calling will be called out, and Ad hominem will be frowned upon. :-) And whatabout-ery sits somewhere above responding to tone and below contradiction.
