Any news on the proposed Jubilee Wood Parkrun in Cumbernauld? Not heard anything about it for ages, no idea what the hold up is, meant to be a hard as hell course though. I hope it still goes ahead, I need an assault course Parkrun in my life ![]() |

Mostly went to plan today, results-wise, only one missing token. Better than last week, when we had a 60+ woman appearing as second female, with a time 8 minutes better than her PB, and I knew for a fact (I was RD at the funnel) who the female 1 & 2 were - not her!

Plean parkrun 4th Birthday today. 100 finishers, including I think a former localish MP making his parkrun debut at the age of 74. I didn't scan, and have been given a result 8 places and 3 minutes better than I should have had. Have emailed in. Age-graded bests:. Falkirk's is 100.52%. There is also a 99.30 and a 97.31. All very veteran women. Top male is down is sixth, with a mere 86.75%. (No, the course isn't short Top person has broken the 100% at another five courses, with a best of 105.64%) I was at Plean and never noticed ye. |

Oh, and I had a reply from the RD four minutes (!) after sending my message, saying that the results had been amended.

No special knowledge of Jubilee Wood but I know that in general new launches are taking longer just now. Just a backlog of work after all the country relaunches post Covid given the very small number of paid staff parkrun has at its disposal. I wouldn’t necessarily rush to the conclusion that a delay means there’s a ‘problem’ as such. Could very well just be the admin is taking longer than it used to because there’s a big queue of potential new events.

Yes I can vouch for the fact that things are taking longer because parkrun HQ has a tremendous amount to deal with. Actual delays in starting and also then delays with things like getting Facebook pages and so on live. As you say they have limited staff and a lot going on at the moment. We had various things to overcome which maybe made the original launch ambitious anyway but one of the ambassadors in our area told me in July he expected the event I subsequently joined the core team for to launch in September but in the end our start date was Nov 6.
