Ha, good luck Big_G..just checked out my best, May 2018, 20:19 according to parkrun, and I came 53rd even at that pace. No chance of being alone at my home Cardiff parkrun if I can break 20. I think I am going to go all out to break that 20 mins when it returns, more chance of being 2 metres apart at that pace!!!

You’d probably be well socially distanced at Cliffe Castle running around 20 mins ![]() |

I actually had a look at the parkrun blog this week. They made it clear that parkrunGlobal have no intention of reopening any events that would not be more or less "old normal"* and whilst people have been making suggestions with good intentions, they would add complexity and are, in fact, useless ideas (I paraphrase). "Importantly, much of our success over the last fifteen years has been due to our relentless focus on removing barriers to event delivery (as well as to event participation), and now more than ever we must keep that principle at the forefront of our minds." blog.parkrun.com Looks like a long wait for the UK to me. *There is an "at this stage" in there. So there's room to reconsider if, say, we're still not parkrunning next years. |

I can but maybe October / November. If we aren’t Parkrunning by then, not Parkrunning will be the least of many people’s worries

I guess I'm thinking of the worst and if it's better then it's a nice surprise. the reason I think it may be later is that there is just no way to control numbers. I can see a normal "race" going ahead before parkrun because there's more ability to control attendance.

It's a large gathering, impossible to socially distance, and has no means of ticketing or otherwise to control numbers. It has no economic benefit, and the personal and fitness benefits can arguably be achieved in other ways. It's going to be amongst the very last things to emerge. I think parkrun coming back this year is very optimistic. |

There must also be a threat to the parkrun existence as sponsorship/funding may not be available if there are no events and so how does HQ function
