Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

They’ve not said otherwise, staggered start on the roads in Coniston would be too disruptive

I’m hoping it’s random paces to start, slowbies first and being overtaken non stop from the start isn’t nice - but even mixed pace would do that, id rather start at the back and stay there

More detail than the email. Presumably speedsters up the front and everyone else somewhere in the middle

Whould have been better if there was that clarity in the original email, but pleased its a straightforward sensible process

I shall start towards the last of the window - much nicer to be following than being overtaken

Both the L50 and L100 punish early over exuberance.

Your strategy is spot on Rosehip.

There are no finishers medals for those that exceed their abilities early doors. Sadly I know that to my cost.

Yep. The race has even cut offs so need to β€œbank time”. I’m planning on taking it easy for the first few hours and see how it goes.

I’ve seen enough races where people go off to quickly only to drop at half way

The only cut-off you really need to worry about (for the 100) is Buttermere, which is 10 hours for a marathon. If you make that you really shouldn't get timed out at any of the others as they get softer from then on.

Agree with you flanker. And once you're at Sail Pass the interest (and toughness) declines until you get to Fusedale.

Apart for where its dark, there’s plenty of interest betweenSail and Fusedale if you haven’t seen it before

Oh, don't get me wrong, it is still maginificent. Just not as magnificent as what has gone before.

Last run:walk done. Less of hay in the barn and more some soft fruit that is well by it's best has been harvested. What will be will be. One CP at a time. And whio knows, with a bit of luck, rub of the green, I may get back to Coniston. But one thing I do know is that I intend on trying to enjoy every step.
