Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Work have given me an iPhone 11 to replace my iPhone SE. I used the SE for listening to podcasts when running. It was small enough to fit in the key pocket of some shorts or under the waistband. But the iPhone 11 is massive and quite heavy. I don't fancy an armband, and only really carry a bag when in the hills on on a really long run.

So I'm wondering what Apple solution I could use for podcasts? One of the things I like is that, because I'm a completist by nature, I listen to the podcasts in time order. If I use spotify or whatever thats less easy. The main other criteria is bluetooth for headphones.

I was thinking about getting an old ipod nano 7th generation from ebay. That's small and has bluetooth. Any other ideas?

This is a cheaper option. Buy some of these then use your normal phone:

You can fit a towel in the back pocket, it's that big. Seriously, you can. I ran to work last week with a full-size microfibre towel because I forgot to take one with me in advance.

What about a waist belt, rather than armband ?

There's hundreds out there to choose from, something like this

I was using a flipbelt until I bought the shorts above, which are a lot better for me to do photographs and stuff. The missus has appropriated the flipbelt now for her 'secret' 30 minutes a day run.

Two things wrong with those shorts:

1. They have the long lycra layer, I don't like those
2. £45 for a pair of shorts!!! 10% off? Big deal.

Flipbelt is great. I think the version with a zip is bigger than the original, and would allow you to carry a large phone

I use a Flipbelt, iPhone 11 fits fine along with key on the clip and a pair of Nooz glasses as my arms aren’t long enough for reading any more...
