Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

If MFP recommends 1500 (male) or 1200 (female), then it's adjusted your goal to be the minimum it recommends. It's good to compare its recommendation by adjusting your settings to "I want to maintain my weight" or whatever it's called, and seeing how many calories it gives for that.

1945 to lose 2lb a week sounds great! The best I get on 1500 is 0.4kg/week if I did no exercise.

problem is my head freaks at that high a number! I know it's because I am heavy to start with (despite my height!) but I would have thought 1500 would be more it!

Another lurker here I have lost almost 2st in the last 18m but would love to lose another 1/2st.

I am in a strange place as I’m happy where I am but would like a smaller number. I will keep plugging away at it I’m more scared of the weight sneaking back on.

Pix I have lost my weight comfortably eating 1800-1900 cals I use MFP (bit slacking on that at the moment) I don’t eat back any exercise cals unless I do a crazy long run and burn mega cals

69 kilos, which is where I left off end of January, so that is encouraging! I feared I had re-gained it all...
