Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

It's 40 years since the first radio show was broadcast and tonight will see the start of the radio adaptation of the Eoin Colfer sequel. Will you be listening?

Even if you think the whole thing is an abomination and a despoiling of Douglas Adams's memory, it's well worth listening to this, if you haven't already:

They played a trailer on Radio 3 this morning. Yes, really.

Sounded quite good.

It's 6.30 on Radio 4, Dio. Do listen to the archive show, though. It's really good.

Ooh, good prompt. I not only listened to them in 1979 (reruns, missed them in 1978!) I also "home taped" them so I had all episodes (Fits?). It was awesome! :-) G

I still have all the episodes
and a book of the scripts
and the original paperbacks
I'm torn between curiosity and fear of it being awful - but as I'm likely to be driving home at some point between 6:30 and 7, will probably listen by default

DA's books ended on a SPOILER ALERT somewhat miserable note and he always intended to deliver a more uplifting ending, but his writer's block and untimely death put a stop to that, so I don't have too big a problem with Eoin Colfer having a go.

Good point McGooh. The endings were wonderfully downbeat, but you always felt he had more stories to tell. I think Eoin Colfer has a suitable quirky and subversive style that he might pull it off. Fingers crossed. :-) G

Cheers for the heads-up, would have missed it otherwise. Can't be worse than the Marvin they used in the film (apologies to fetchie who uses it as avatar)
