Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Just wondering if there had ever been discussion about making improvements to the forum search functionality? Quite often I'd like to search things like a specific thread for a specific period of time, or a specific thread for specific user comments etc, or keyword searches, but the combination of my use of the search button here or my Google-fu doesn't really get me the sort of output I'd find on "stock" forum engines that are found on other sites.

It's waaaay down the list of priorities I'm sure, just curious if there were any good work-arounds that others use as I'm sure Fetch's coding resources are more than stretched with other, more useful, stuff elsewhere!

I just use google but include site:www.fetcheveryone.com in the search term, to limit it to here. Seems to work just fine.

Yep, I can do that - but if I wanted to just search, say, the 3:15 support thread it's harder to focus in with Google due to the way the URLs are formed on Fetch.

I have asked Fetch for this as a feature suggestion a number of times, but it's not reached top of his to do pile yet! Here was my complete site search wish...

Yes, that's about the best I've got to. It's just not as "nice" as the forum searchability that you get in the off-the-shelf forum packages that lots of other websites use.

Glad to hear it's not just me HG!
