I have a query about swimwear 'etiquette'...my OHs daughter loves us taking her swimming. So far, I've managed to get away with my usual bikini but looking a bit round in them. I'm not sure I can get away with it now I'm 21 weeks! It's a family pool, so a jumping in& out the pool type pool as opposed to a swimming lanes pool. Should I buy a proper maternity cossie for the few times I'll be using it for the sake of etiquette or should I continue to wear my most decent sized bikini & be proud of my bump while it's not too massive for public viewing?

I'd personally go for option two if you're comfortable. Why spend money unnecessarily?
I have a maternity cozzie. It's bloody unflattering, but was a hand-me-down, so it will do! I'd wear my bikini, but my boobs have grown MASSIVELY, and it now looks a bit obscene to be worn in public...

Could you just wear a t-shirt over your bikini? An old race one in extra large maybe? I'm not saying you need to cover up. Go with how comfortable you feel.

Whatever makes you comfortable. I've seen lots of bumps on show in pools and never been offended.

Whatever you feel comfortable in.
I'm not sure I'd have fitted safely in by bikini top for much beyond 21 weeks though!
Another thought is that when you get towards the end of your pregnancy, swimming might be the only exercise you can do. I loved taking the weight off my bump with swimming 3 times a week right up to the end of my pregnancy. Even Neems did a bit of swimming I think
So you might get more wear out of a maternity costume than you think.

Thanks for the feedback...i wish i had time to do more exerciseso that i could commit to swimming, i cant even use the excuse of tiredness! Theres just not enough hours in the day since being back at work, and working 8-7pm is beginning to take its toll with the commuting as well

That's a long day. I would be knackered just normally doing that, nevermind throwing pregnancy in to the mix

Thank you
I think I might have carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand - help! The pain last night was incredible. Still sore this morning, but at least I can use it (gently). What on earth can do I do?
