Any fetchies going to the Lakes in a couple of weeks for the British Middles/Northern Champs?

I'll take that as a no!
However, I'm organising an online training course for my club (AIRE) for beginners to the organising and planning process.
If there are any Fetch orienteers who are interested and like to join us, I'd be happy for you to do so. Just drop me an fmail and I can send you the doodle poll to select the most suitable date for all participants.
I'm broadly going to cover: - The basics of organising a *local* event (focussing mainly on how we do things in AIRE, but some things will be transferrable) - The basic principles of course planning (this will be general) - How to use 'Purple Pen' course planning software (some of this will be real-time)
- If time allows, how to go on and plan and organise regional events.

How did the middle/northern champs go Fozzy? Several SN members said both days were tough going especially for southern softies 😉 I’ve just entered the the last two days of the Scottish 6 days, anyone else going?

I had an unreadable 1:10000 map for BMDOC.
I then rolled my ankle and walked pretty much everything after 25mins in.
Oh and I mp'd on an easy control.

I therefore didn't do the northern champs, although looking at the RG of the courses, I'd probably have been ok.
Not doing S6D this year, although I'd liked to have done.
Basically can't afford the accomodation.

Can imagine it gets pricey for a whole week. I’ve family in Dundee so only need accommodation for the Saturday night and will probably camp somewhere.

I tried to get on the campsites near fort William and was told there's no room.
Didn't want to end up miles away (e.g. arasaig) as then the week becomes a week of driving.
Also not much fun on your own.
I don't quite get why there's not the usual event campsite that's open to everyone.

Would it be something to do with Scottish Govt covid rules. We were supposed to be staying at Camaghael that week (wife's birthday, visiting granny and in-laws etc) but left it too late to book and couldn't understand how the site had filled up so quickly. I realise now, courtesy of this thread!
I'm actually really pleased. I would have been really sad to have booked thinking it would be its usual relatively quiet self and then turned up to find it hoachin'. Instead we're doing 4 nights at Balmacara and 4 nights at Invercoe. I'm expecting it to be much nicer.

I thought you were going to suddenly offer me the chance to camp in your garden for a moment AC!
Then I realised you were totally the "wrong" side of the country (for Ft William)
