Fetch North West Mile 2009 (Cheshire but reachable from all over)

Lovely to meet so many new peeps - so many in fact that I ended up feeling a little bit antisocial, as I didn't seem to really get to chat to people beyond saying hello - a situation I shall rectify next time. HAYUGE thanks to Homer and Cheshire Lady for organising, and also for hospitality whilst we stuffed our faces with fish and chips (I have it on good authority that's what Usain Bolt refuels with as well). Not to mention the chance to squeeze the puppy. (no, before anyone asks, that's NOT a euphimism. It's a real genuine wriggly lab puppy. And it's eminently squeezable ) The wind certainly made it a hard race - I'm AMAZED to see I took a second off my PB as it felt awful. Makes me feel a lot, lot better about that, as if I can have a good race in better conditions I know I'll be a lot closer to where I expected to be. Reckon the wind was worth a good 5 to 10 seconds. And a big thanks to sLixster for reminding me to keep concentrating to the end of the race To be honest he went by so fast I wouldn't have had a chance even if I'd been fully dialled in and running at 100% Definitely feel I've got unfinished business at this mile malarky....almost tempted by the Yarkie mile next week..... Another great Fetch mile. Watching everyone out there doing it is so, so inspiring. And the kids were AMAZING!!!!
