Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Tarland, near Aboyne? Know it well, have a cousin who lives there. Not a place people mention often.

Trip up to Roseberry Common tonight, and just when I thought I wouldn't get what I went for, a very brief, and distant call of what has become an annual spot for a cuckoo.

Skylark whilst out in the fields this evening, regularly hear plenty of them but don't recall seeing one up close before. It was doing some very strange flying too.

Have also finally succumbed and downloaded the merlin app.

Lapwing from train window on the way home. I remember seeing flocks in the past but now they’re in 1s and 2s.

I pointed a diy motion triggered camera at the bird box entrance last weekand got some slo-mo (120fps) clips of the blue tits. Here's one of the better ones.

Going out for a cuckoo and not coming back ‘til I’ve at least heard one 🌈

Had a walk yesterday and got to to the top of a wee hill to see two red kites up close. Apologies, quick phone pic is the best I got.
