Just sat and watched a female blackbird 'sunning' on the table outside my patio doors for about 10 minutes. I've been putting seed on the table every day and old shallow ceramic oven dish as a bird bath. At one point she got in the dish to cool her feet while still sunning ![]() It's made my day! |

Heard cuckoos in a couple of places nearby recently. Might have to sacrifice a daily run for a bins walk at some point! Hhppy to report that Mummy Duck still has a full compliment of little ones ![]() |

For a while now I 've had a lone Greenfinch that turns up irregularly with the Goldfinches. This morning a pair turned up. So I'm hoping my regular has pulled. Would be good to know they are re-establishing themselves round here.

Nothing in the UK. I saw one of the barn swallows having a preen on the telegraph wire this morning. I haven't seen any swifts yet but I'm on the lookout. |
