Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Curlew 😍😍😍

To my great surprise, there was a male Mandarin Duck on the Wedge pond this morning 😀😀😉 allegedly it was there yesterday too.... I wonder if there’s a female hiding in a tree somewhere???!

The other ducks weren’t too fussed by it’s fancy clothes.

I heard a cuckoo from the garden this afternoon. Don't think I have ever heard one from the house before.

Also saw lots of mipet today.

In terms of wildlife it's been quite exciting. I can't be sure, but we might have spotted a wildcat the other day. I know the odds are against it, but it was definitely a cat of sorts.

I've been doing a bit of research and have come to the conclusion that the cat we saw the other day must have been a domestic animal. It was late at night and halfway down Glen Orchy, it darted across the road in full view, but this is not wildcat territory. It had a very full tail and a tabby appearance, big too. There were a few domestic dwellings about three miles away, so I have to conclude it belongs there.
