I certainly hope to be on that start line next year.

That’s great. Current plans are that I’ll be there in a supporter role for daughter and son-in-law, but that’ll change ten times between now and then!

I’m on an odd-year pattern at the moment. 😀

But, more to the point, I think I may have given them the impression that I’ll do grand-parenting duties next year so they can both run it. (Daughter did it this year off no training and loved it!)

Shades I’m not sure what the overall stats say. I have been unsuccessful in the ballot in 2022 and 2023 (the only years I have tried for) and both times have been able to get in by subscribing later for a charity place. I’m hoping that the odds will work in my favour for 2024 and that I’ll get a standard place, but I honestly don’t know what the odds are!

Anyway, I really am delighted to hear that you are drawn back to the DD with these tweaks to the cut-off times and I’ll hope to see you there in 2024 one way or another!

I'm still recovering from injury so very unlikely to be ready to have another go this year. Frustrating as the slightly relaxed cut offs would be very helpful to me.
