Have all you A/deen athletes seen Fetch's blog post with a plea / offer from Aberdeen Uni? Just in case any of you can help. :-) G

i personally think the 10k is overpriced (even more than the baker) but the half isn't too bad compared to most other 'big city' marathons that have massive spend on traffic orders, etc. surprised it got the nod TBH.
will sign up tonight for the 1/2

The 10k route is like the old Aberdeen 10k (mid 1990s) I ran before. Stonehaven Half still a lot cheaper (and a good 7 weeks earlier if you want to do both).

I would have no desire to run round the streets of Aberdeen and certainly not at that price.

I don't think it's over-priced- yes it's a lot more than club organised local races but it's in line with "big city" races. the cost of closed roads etc are huge. I think it's fantastic that such an event is coming to the city. plenty of people won't enter because of the price or other factors which is absolutely their prerogative, but plenty will and I think it's going to be ace :) I'm in for the half

I am working on the study with Alice that fetch blogged about, I can answer questions. Needles will be involved.

The people of Aberdeen will be pissed off with closed roads. I do think it's expensive but its in line with big events. Will maybe do the half.
