Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Bugger, misnumbered the cans (I'm sure you can crack the code, though).

I had been pretty sure I wouldn't reach 50 cans before the end of the year, but after this trip it might just be possible if I really put the effort in. Trouble is cans mainly come in multipacks, which often puts me off.

Bottles are pretty much in the bag, but I doubt I'll manage another 20 no/lo beers in the next four weeks.

Latest update:

118. North "Light User Syndrome" American Brown Ale - 6.0%
119. Utopian "Munich Dunkel Lager" Munich Dunkel Lager - 5.2%
120. Ad Astra "American Pale Ale" - 4.7%
121. Amundsen "Hobliminal Messages" New England IPA - 5.3%
122. Siren "Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere" Session IPA - 4.2%
123. Büro "Dry-Hopped Kölsch" Kölsch - 4.7%
124. Garden X Varvar "Imperial Coffee, Caramel & Vanilla Stout" Imperial Stout - 7.2%
125. To Øl "Cyllene" Session Porter - 4.5%

All pretty ordinary, TBH. I'd say the stout was the pick of the bunch.

Cans
41. (can) Heverlee Belgian Lager (4.8%). They're very coy about it on the website, but I'm sure this is *another* product of the huge Stella Artois (InBev) factory in Leuven.

Bottles
49. (bottle) St Austell Mena Dhu (4.5%). Lovely bottle-conditioned stout.
50. (bottle) St Ives Porth Pilsner (4.4%). Blech. Fantastic production values on the bottle, but I did not like the beer - didn't taste much like a pilsner, either.

That's 50 bottles reached, so I'll stop counting now. There's another couple of beers in the fridge, I was tempted to pretend one of those was my 50th but we'll let that one stand.

Heverlee is some nonsense product. I got taken in during summer, I thought what's that, should know better.

I am still counting and will stick a finished list up very near of just after New Year. I think I might do it all again next year!

I had a pint of Adnams 'Jolly' Old the other night. Now I am very familiar with Adnams Old (the pump clip has a fisherman on it) but the 'Jolly' Old has the same fisherman in a kind of Christmas jumper. I think the beer itself has been tampered with and not necessarily in a good way.

No/Lo
31. (bottle) Days Pale Ale (0.0%). Forgot to include this one after the weekend. Very unconvincing attempt at 'beer', I shan't be getting this one again.

And last night was the work Christmas party-
Cans
42. (can) Bristol Beer Factory Fortitude (4.0%).
43. (can) Bristol Beer Factory Party Wave (5.0%). All a bit 'craft ale', but that seems fair for a craft ale brewery. I did enjoy this one.
44. (can) Bristol Beer Factory Infinity (4.6%). Their lager.

Only one to add. I had hoped a weekend in Chertsey would yield some new beers but all Landlord, Tribute, and Doombar. Now I don’t mind Landlord and Tribute but they do seem to be everywhere at the moment.

115 Much Hadham Brewery Oddy. A light ish coloured bitter very good indeed.

BaronessBL I can’t see anything on Adnams website about Jolly old. So I suspect it is a seasonal update of the Old pump clips. I hope they haven’t mucked around with it as I like Old

I like Old too. Very rare thing now.

About This Thread

and here we are in 2025....

I still really like a pint.

I think this is not too controversial health wise, besides it's quality I prefer not volume.

Lots of beers about these days. I interpret it as different beers within 2025, and you can, if you like; avoid beers you have had before, but as ever the list is yours to do what you like.

Also interesting to see how variable local areas are!
