It is probably wise to see a physio Lesley. Rest alone, doesn't always do the trick. A common practice is RICE, Rest, ice, compression, elevation.
Good that you are enjoying your running Steve, as that is a positive sign.
On the subject of birds 🐦, I heard the first Cuckoo during my forest run this morning.
Well done for your track session last night LL, that's the way to improve your pace. Cycling 🚲 is excellent cross training 👌
It was lovely and sunny this morning, with a pleasant cool breeze. I ran a very enjoyable 8 miles enjoying the peace and lovely scenery. Garmin Connect is still showing optimum and that I'm in race shape. Recovery 5 hours, which is the lowest I can remember. I must be doing something right. Probably the "Farmers Walk " twice a week 🤣

Physios do their best given what they can see and what they are told by the injured. My wife was told by two physios four or five years ago that she didn't have arthritis and she had piriformis. A year after that she had to have a hip replacement. On another occasion when doing a multi day event she had extreme shin pain which sports coach said could be "run through" . Three days later and a visit to A&E saw her in plaster with a fracture. My personal experience with an issue with my back thirty odd years ago was that I was told to keep moving...I did my last ever race, ended up in hospital having been running with two prolapsed discs and subsequent neural damage which has spoiled my running "career". Same sort of thing happened when I had a numb arm and stiff neck which a private physio said was a strain. A visit later to NHS Physio and x ray advised showed a prolapsing disc in my neck! Extreme cases I guess but you never can tell. How fabulous that you heard a Cuckoo hs.

We also have a local physio who specialises in running injuries. He's also a runner, who knows what he is doing.
It was nice hearing the cuckoo yesterday, a sure sign of spring, which they say is 3 weeks earlier than in the past.
Conditions were perfect yesterday Turkhish, and I made the most of them. Well done for your mornings run, inclusive of intervals.

Thanks Turkhish, the New Forest is the only place where I have heard a cuckoo, but not every year.

The old poem says: The cuckoo comes in April He sings his song in May In June he sings a different tune And then he flies away
Round our parts when I was growing up, the first cuckoo was reportable news 😁
