The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys. 7 this morning so just 12.5 to go. I've got a half hour this evening before going out so hopefully get in down nearer to the 10 mark

Well done Sandgrounder and Hickerton, one or two more runs should do it for both of you.

I made it with a 9 mile run today. I did my 1000 mile dance in driving wind and rain on top of Arthur's Seat much to the bemusement of all the tourists up there admiring the view :-)

Hickerton and Sandgrounder - poised to applaud you both as you dance through the Finish line. I think Forest Plodder is going to make it, too.

Evangel - glad your leg seems better. I'm sure I could find a more encouraging quotation if I thought about it long enough, but all that comes immediately to mind is "the race is not to the swift..."

Just back from a 4-mile run in pouring rain, bringing my total up to 1009. That will be the last for the year.
