Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

148, after 13.1 miles that wasn't the planned Liverpool half. I'll eventually start a race this year...

Well the Liverpool Half might not have been 13.1 miles anyway ;)

AL - Was it short? I'd have been raging if I travelled hundreds of miles in decent shape to run a short course. Luckily I didn't travel, and I'm not in decent shape haha!

Well as is the way of things, debate is raging on Facebook - but it looks as if it may have been as much as .4 of a mile. The organisers have issued a statement that implies they accept it might not have been accurate.

What's it with the north of England and being unable to properly measure road races (Manchester marathon, I'm looking at you) ;)

When I ran the Loughborough Half in 2012 it was short (12.95 according to the entry on my training log). But for a small event that was raising money for a charity I don’t think many people made much of a fuss about it. You wouldn’t expect a big event to have the same issue.

Yes, SM6, it's always the North of England:

Managed to get an 18-miler in yesterday in my allotted time, which was nice.

Puts me on 88/100. It's still a bit squeaky-bum as to whether I'll make 100, but it's been good trying this month!

DeeGee - i know fine it it's not just the north of England. It just so happens the 2 'short' races I've signed up for have been there. Although I still have horrible memories of being in HM PB shape at Edinburgh a few years ago, only to run a near 13.5 mile course and not PB. Took me a couple of years to calm down after that one!

Worst part of that debacle was the organisers only taking about 3 months to admit the course 'might' be long...
