Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

late to the party - started it yonks ago and then had to keep taking breaks to read something that gripped me more . . . until the last quarter when I did become quite immersed in it

By the end I quite enjoyed it, the dislikable characters were thoroughly dislikable, but I did find it confusing for a while (and I'm not THAT dim). Overall I don't think there were enough redeeming features for me to recommend it on . . . give me six months and I'll have forgotten that and be encouraging people to give it a go! If that happens give me a prod in the direction of the senior moments thread

I chose this book as one of my Read a Book for Every Year of your Life ones. I got it from a charity shop and it will be going back there. I suspect that tells you a lot about my feelings towards it and possibly the donor's too.

Any book where I have to keep referring to the family tree, hasn't quite got it right ;-)

Got something to say?
