JOGSCOTLAND MILE - part of the Falkirk Cup

_andy Hmm, a bit odd that. I was meant to take my two eldest kids to this, so we could all run a mile race, and then go and see an international Athletics match (the Falkirk Cup - it's on the BBC this Sunday btw). But the girls were either ill, or shopping, so I went on my own. The weather was awful - driving rain, between the showers - so the entry was considerably lower than the race limit. Ahem, 21 runners, almost outnumbered by the organisers, marshalls, support crew, mascot (Berlin, eat your heart out). They blamed the weather and the fact that it usually happened during the holidays.
The race was once round the park, mostly on paths (trail and slippery concrete) with some bits of muddy grass thrown in too for good measure. being Grangemouth there were puddles to leap and broken glass to avoid (yes, seriously).
Oh, and it wasn't a mile, which was a shame. I got 0.90 on both the Garmin and gmap: http://www.fetcheveryone.com/viewracedetails.php?id=36336
As for the run, the guy in front steadily pulled away from me and although I had one go at trying to close up the gap, he moved further in front, so I ended up second, for what it's worth. A bit odd really. Kinross Road Runners 5:32 5:33 5:13 75.22
