Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.
The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments
Bath Half. Not impressed.
Warm day, definitely affected by the heat, but mainly hampered by a lack of fitness and the recurrent hamstring issues.
Felt ok in the early miles, with slight lapses in concentration being my worst crime. Miles 8 and 9 were crippling. Hamstring and ankle were playing up and I felt like dropping out. Going backwards and pretty much doubting my ability to finish. It wasn't pleasant.
Luckily (?) my slowdown allowed a pair to pass me back just after 9 miles who were running very strongly. I decided I had to go with them to finish and it was the right move. Finally felt I was running a race even if I was struggling. Passed the bloke after about 11 miles but the lady finished strongly.
Thought the sub 1:20 was in the bag, but the last mile is long and hard. Clocked exactly 80 minutes but think I've been caught on Bath's chip system, the same as last year. *1:20:01... - finally adjusted to 1:20 exactly...
I've been in sub 80 shape almost all year. It was a worst case time to beat. I need to combine 3 big weeks with some form of physio to have a chance at London. New job tomorrow too....
My two other thoughts are that I still lack confidence to attack a half-marathon and that Bath went backwards in organistation this year.
I have the range, I have the speed, and currently I have the motivation. Big improvements over this distance to come this year...
