well thats me finished (10:35) which I'm happy with on a tough day. think times were down a bit on previous years,
The sun was shining all day and apparently got up to 20c
so it was a hard shift.
Between winchburgh and broxburn, while the wheels didnt properly come off, they were only just staying in place with pipe cleaners and sellotape
Managed to get it together and ran in with my mates the Macleans for most of the last 14 miles at near enough 10 min/miles. Which is good because my speed had dropped right off and my guts were pretty much fecked and I had stopped eating/drinking.
Anyway all in a great race and with a combination of ginger beer, a half pizza supper and my amazing powers of recovery, I'm already looking forward tomorrow.
p.s. just tried an ice bath, lasted 3 seconds they're feckin freezin!!!
That's great running. Don't know how you can do it. Enjoy your marathon tomorrow.
thank goodness for pipe cleaners! top running mate, truely amazing stuff. ice baths are the business for muscle recovery, but not easy to do.
