Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.
The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments
Bath Half Marathon
Was looking for a PB in this race. Training had gone quite well and I was hopeful of a good time.
In the lead up to the race my legs had been feeling heavy, so I had three full days off before the race - only two 8 mile runs in the lead up week. Still feeling lots of random (phantom?) twinges in my legs before the race and my left glute and right calf were a little tight.
The weather conditions were good - cold, clear and sunny. However, it was a little cold for hanging around at the start. After a gentle warmup I headed over to the start and managed to get very near the front. I was right behind the elites at the start and it only took ~5 seconds to get over the start line.
Not much to say about the race itself . Pace was really consistent (38.08 first 10k, 38.04 second 10k) and I felt pretty strong throughout. Two lap race and I was lapping loads of people on the second lap. The course is generally pretty fast, with a downhill start, a hill up to Queen Sq, a gradual flat/downhill section to the turn, with a hill around the turn. It's then pretty flat back into Bath to end the first lap. The second lap is more of the same, with an uphill finish, which isn't too bad.
