Fantastic race - first time I’ve ever run a marathon without it turning into a death march.
Plan was to run between 7:05 and 7:15 until at least 16 miles then see how I felt.
Ended up passing a samba band in Hove which spurred me on and got me changing pace. Decided to stick with it and keep the miles under 7s.
Mile 24 had a nasty pivot and was a bit tricky generally, but mainly I felt very strong throughout. Even managed a sprint finish.
Never run a marathon like it - I guess because I wasn’t stretching for a time. Nothing like carving through the field in the final ten miles while feeling good though!
