Was swithering a bit about whether to give it the blast, but tried my hardest, so it is a fair reflection. i.e. 8 seconds slower than April. Oh well. I did think about sandbagging the first miles then trying to blast the last mile, but no point really. I can do that after the Stirling 10K. Felt quite sluggish from the start, but very even splits says this was a full effort. Not much left at the end. It was a Perth road runners counter, so loads of Perth there. Was with a couple of guys a young and my age, went past him (and need to feed back about marshal points and signs, cos a couple of people weren't sure, so I shouted to them where to go). Then big gap to the next couple of guys. Couldn't even see them until the longer straights. Knew Richard, G's brother in law, was ahead, then spotted he was 2 places ahead. Not catching them in the last half mile though, but kept best pace I could. Bit of a head wind (easterly) but can't really blame that. Just nothing else in. Had drunk a berocca, coffee so nothing missed. Rest day yesterday from running (though squats and lunges and heel drops at gym might still have been in legs a bit?) so should have been in best shape? Any hoo, will do a 3 day taper before Stirling 10K on Sun 11, last run Wed maybe some short strides or sprints Tue or Wed? Maybe a very easy run on the Sat? Nice to chat to Richard and decided to go for some Nike ZoomX Vaporfly Next% £150 (should have got 15% more off but missed out on that - if I like them I need to remember to use that next time!) See if the cheat shoes give me any advantage. Need to try them out between Tue/ Wed and Sun! Then depending how 10K goes, maybe try Kirkcaldy parkrun or Edinburgh for a better time on tarmac? Blood pressure 124 over 73 at 63bpm. Pretty consistent. Think that's OK. Def better than S's! She needs to see GP. She's cutting down on caffeine, trying to do herbal teas etc. But not really making better quality food. Hmm. Watched a bit of Diamond League from Brussels on catch up - Wightman, Muir brilliant results. Off to the Trail champs to watch Stornoway and also Richard's daughter doing it, so will see him again too!

Ah-ha! That's a mighty impressive time - and 72% WAVA too! Nice one.
And a top race report and mini blog as well!
