Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.
The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Good to see you running again! Parkrun as well. Forgot about those 😂
Think you are still in front of me on the 1200 mile thingy league👍
Really??? I haven't looked in ages... I don't think I'll be hitting that this year now! Hope you get back to parkrun yourself, it was unbelievably good to be back ❤️
Yep! It's a pet thing of mine to study the distance target league that I'm in from time to time. A horrible habit, I know 😂 I have been at it ever since I can remember. And yet, whatever total I've put in over the years, I have never ever reached it. Completely barmy!!
Oh yes. Parkrun. Will have to check but think that the last time I did one, may well be as long as 3 years ago with my daughter. May well have to sort that one out.
Btw. I'm currently being a self employed skiver. Was prepping some windows for painting. And as the lovely little village of Gawcott as just received a drenching, I'm in the van clogging up Fetch with my nonsense . All the best to you, Em😀👍
Sounds perfectly reasonable in the weather! (is that Gawcott near MK?) I think fetching is a perfect way to spend time! I am a big lover of parkrun, it's a wonderful institution and although I may not agree with all they have done and will do, the basic premis warms my heart, and you can't beat parkrun volunteers for raising a smile on a Saturday morning - I've missed it so much!
Yes. Just outside of Buckingham, about 15 miles west of MK. Think I've posted more comments on blogs this afternoon than I have in the last year.
I pretty much agree with you on parkrun. Only reason I've not done so much of it is that I often work when it's going on. I first did one years ago and I'm still only on about 36. Brilliant set up though. One of the best things out there. I do believe it has changed an awful lot of lives for the better.
I shall get back on to parkrun come the autumn. It'll be good to have in the mix, as I am going to get a little more serious ( but not too) about my running and see if I can get a little faster as it's always nice to unsettle younger running family members who really don't want to be beaten by an oldie 😂
The rain is still going. I should have written my first blog 😃
Do you get a badge for loads of comments in your training? 😂
Haha... I'm not sure there are comments on training badges, but there are four getting comments on blogs! 😁
Good luck with getting more serious, I don't think I'll ever get back to the speeds I used to get, and even they were slow! I'm happy enough plodding along, when I can 🤣 I used to live in MK, so recognised the name! Small world!
It certainly is! Aren't we all connected by fewer links than we realise, didn't somebody say? Yes. I remember you saying you used to live in MK. I really like it. Never thought I'd say that, when growing up in the country. My Sharon has a different perspective on it, having it build up around her, which must be really strange.
Speed is not the be all for me either, yet there is a side that is interested in seeing how good I could get, yet at the same time don't want to risk messing things up and risking serious injury, because the most important thing is just getting out there. So I'll go steady and still have fun. There certainly is nothing wrong with plodding. No matter how fit I get, I always manage to get some regular plodding in.
Plodding is the best, time to look around 😁 I love MK I don't think I realised how much to we moved!
Yes, all connected somehow, very interesting when you start digging, I love it!
Yes. It certainly is. Being able to plod is perhaps more important than being superfast. And not everyone can do that in my experience.
MK is just brilliant for running and has a massive advantage for the likes of WSW 😃
