Amsterdam Marathon
Sub 3-hour marathon of 2:59:47
Was a close run thing but delighted to get under that milestone.
Looking through the times still not 100% sure why my half split was 1:30:20 as was convinced most of my mile splits were under 6:50 and looking below it still seems that way??
Only thoughts are that my Garmin made it 26.56miles so perhaps half way mark was about 13.3 rather than 13.1.
Anyway probably happier that even though the clock said 1:30:20 I still felt I was going OK and even at the 30-35K mark still felt good.
When I got to that point though I realised I was still going to have to keep it going right up to the end. So to get 6.11 pace for the last half mile (after two 6:39s) is probably the most pleasing thing.
Just goes to show that the best laid plans dont always go the way you think !!
