Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Notes & Comments

A still, cool day met the Amsterdam Half Marathon. Could not ask for better conditions. Started at a comfortable pace. It was a bit congested for the first few miles, with literally hundreds of people clearly picking the wrong pace pen and getting in the way. Felt good going through 5k in 23.46 and 10k in 47.51. Started to feel it a bit, but still went through 10 miles in around 1:18:30, which would be a 10 mile PB by 4 minutes. Found it tough from 10 1/2 miles and had to dig in to hold a reasonable pace. Lovely setting for a finish into the Olympic Stadium and 250 metres around the track. Considering I haven't done tons of miles and was aiming for the St Neots HM, pleased with a new PB by nearly 3 minutes. A few more miles under the belt and I think I can hold that pace.

Nice. :-) Looking forward to seeing what you can do when the training's more half-focussed.
