Notes & Comments

Wetherby 10k. Really enjoyed this, this is the third time I've run this race, first time I have run it by myself (usually run with Jayne) which was a bit strange. Have had a good rest on holiday this week so fully rested for the race which helped. First 2 miles under 9mmm which I was please with as didn't feel I'd gone out too fast, struggled as usual in the 4th mile but then pulled through and started to pick up again. The sun was out so quite hot and little shade. I am a nitwit, I forgot as usual not only to look at the race timer at the finish but also forgot to stop my garmin too. Must have been stood in the queue for number taking at the end for at least 30s before I realised (the reason why the last 0.2 miles look as if they are a slow pace!!). Hoping to get under 57min (my target) when official results published. Please overall and has given me a bit of a lift to carry on with marathon training. Official time 56:56 so v pleased with this. Race wasn't chip timed so probably 20s to cross official start line in this time.
