The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.

For some reason I thought this one would all be on concrete paths but it wasn't! The start, finish & 2 quite a longish section of the middle of the course was on grass and after the recent rain was very muddy and slippery. I saw two people in front of me slip over. I only had my road shoes so had to take it pretty easy through the muddy bits. Its through 3 parks and mostly along a river. Was only aiming to take it easy so got stuck behind slower runners & then a bit difficult to get ahead to do my own speed. It goes under an underpass a couple of times. I'll have to do it again when its drier.
In the second half a guy took it upon himself to pace me which was a bit odd but kind anyway. Though he did seem to get the hump at the end - after a nice chat he asked what my best time was & seemed not to like the answer though I'd preceded it with 'it was a long time ago'! Oh well - weird.
