The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
River Thames Half - Setting training paces for Furman plan this winter, had an idea I might be able to get close to 1:40 but at very least beat my PB (1:43:12) failing to take into account that I am still fatigued from 49 marathons/ultras this year. I compounded this idiocy by setting off like an absolute fool. Plan had been to start at 7:40 and see how things were at half way. During mile two I checked average pace for the first time - 7:20 was slightly over ambitious to say the least but I thought I'd try to bank a bit of a cushion and hold on at the end. Was slowing badly from quite early and hit treacle at about mile 10. At least getting to the end of a half in these circumstances is a lot more forgiving than a full.
Still, the result means I'm aiming for sub 3:45 next spring which feels far more realistic than the 3:30 I was thinking about! === 1) 13.12m - 1:48:07(8:14/m) 1795cal
