NI Relays. Larne's vets 'B', 4th/final leg.
Obvious thing to do when not doing any running, is to go out for a 2m blast race. Oh.
Felt surprisingly OK to start, and felt like I might still be a runner... and then realised I was already slowing down and blowing hard, and hadn't reached 0.5m yet.
OTOH - I have not had a HR that high for - well - years, at least. And as a % of max, it's the highest outside of actual tests, I'm sure.
Didn't stop watch right at line, but after some breath-getting after. So leg time taken from published results.
(PS - last year, 12:04 = 5:47m/m by GPS, versus 12:54 = 6:14m/m by GPS - course might be a fraction shorter this year after path reconstructions in Victoria Park)
