Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

RichyC Always a good race this one. Enjoyed it but having run Edinburgh Marathon only 6days before it was quite tiring in the latter stages. Happy enough with time given proximity to the marathon.

daviec Didn't expect much on this course. My best time here was 1:36 and I hadn't trained in the two weeks prior to this due to a hip injury which was still bothering me when I went to the race.

The weather was perfect on the day. Overcast but not too cold, and a nice breeze at the top of the hills to cool off with. The rain held off as well.

I didn't have my garmin with me so I had to just judge my pace which I'm not very good at. Did the first two miles fart but felt comfortabel anyway. At 8 miles another runner told me we were on 57 mins and I felt good, so I decided to hold my pace and see hoiw I got on.

Began to pass a few runners and at mile 10 really felt a second wind come on and put a kick in. Passed two guys on the last corner as we headed into Stranraer and dug deep to push for home. In the finishing straight I accelerated when I saw the clock and was delighted to come in with 1:34:20. My best time for that course. As always an hour or two later I was telling myself I obviously hadn't run hard enough and could have went for sub 1:30. That'll be Glasgow after the summer :)

Haggis A very well organised race, but defo not for anyone who needs crowd support! It goes through very rural areas where you're lucky to find a handful of spectators.

I did try to push for under 1:40 but the legs were feeling tired after the past couple of weekends and I was glad to finish under 1:45 - my 4th fastest half ever!

A course that is constantly undulating - no respite.

Sorry to those who bet on me...
