expatria Yeah, I came in half an hour slower than expected but I don't care. My husband ran with me; it's the longest distance he has yet run. This was an 8-mile course in the Roaches in Staffs., somewhere I had never been before. The course was very challenging-- icy farm roads, rutted fields, and a long scramble 400 meters up a rocky hill. The views were gorgeous; I half expected to see the Black Riders massing at the bottom. Plenty of rescue workers/race marshals in evidence, grinning wickedly as they point you up the next insane hill. All were friendly, and we got bottles of specially brewed beer at the finish. Not remotely a PB course unless you are some sort of man-mountain goat (read: fell runner), but you should do it.
