Oscar's Everyone Day

Sunday 23rd June 2024
In 2021 Oscar the Grouch proposed one day each year where "we unite as a community and EVERYONE records an activity of some sort - a dog walk, a run, a swim, a ride, ski if you want...".

Sadly we lost Oscar in March, so I'd like to dedicate Everyone Day to him. Thank you for the inspiration you gave us Oscar.

Boingy Well I got a new PB, which I'm chuffed about, but can't help feel a little disappointed. Was secretly aiming for 1hr35min, but just didn't have it in me. Started off ok at a good pace, felt a little low in energy but was on for 1hr36-ish at 10miles so was happy enough. But then between 10 and 11 miles I just died on my feet, thought I was going to chuck up, and had to dig really deep just to finish.....yes it was that bad. I think my pre-race routine wasn't good, didn't sleep brilliantly, and breakfast wasn't what I normally have, plus it was warmer than I'm used to racing in, about 22degC at the end. Lesson learned there I think. But hey, I have a shiny new PB :-), the race course and organisation was excellent (spot prizes included 5* trip to Marrakesh marathon, LCD TV, mountain bike etc...shame I didn't win anything), and the french support was just fantastic. Less than 2hrs on the Eurostar to Lille from London, so dead easy to get to !! Definitley be back next year to get that sub 1.35. :-) Leamington C & AC 1:22:09 1:38:28 1:37:00 1:38:28 59.41
