Rigel First ever marathon ( I know its only classed as 26 miles but we got lost so I'm claiming it as a full 26.2) and it was the most hilly run I've ever done. Decided to walk all the uphills and settled into steady but slow pace with runner form Knavesmire Harriers. Legs felt okay until just after half way when blisters and lead-legs started to make appearance. Cock How climb killed my (already quite knackered by that point) legs and so reduced to shuffling the next 6 miles. Got my second (or third or fourth?) wind near the end and managed to run most of the final 2 miles. Pretty pleased with time as i'd not put in very much hill work or long-distance training.
