Milou Really pleased with this time - especially as the 'predictor' said at best 1:07:00! Wore a pace band with 1:05:00 on but then realised within the first mile really that my legs felt rested and raring to go! Then had a mental battle with myself to work out if I could continue to run 10 min miles for the rest of the race. Felt better after the first hill - was overtaken only to overtake and then nobody else past me and just 'picking' people off after that (in the nicest possible way!). Made some use of a man watering his garden to catch a few droplets on my scorched body! Need to work on the last mile or so - really wanted to overtake a couple of girls running in front of me - legs just didn't have it in them but I'm sure they can be improved! Managed a sprint finish but unfortunately no medal - 'computer says you are just too slow'!! Got my own bunch of flowers, a hug from northernslowcoach and a well earned jelly baby - better than any medal or T-shirt! Would definitely do this again!
