Boycie 1st day of the year - 1st race of the year and a SB to boot - who'd have thought it huh! Finished 8th overall, but due to the way the prizes worked out, was given 3rd SM and a bottle of wine. 1st 5k - 17.58, 2nd 5k 18.28. The big hill the second time around saps you, as it is a steeper climb and steadier descent and it took me a while to get the lactic out of the legs. Managed a good final km of 3.31 though, which I was pleased with. A good start to the year considering I hadn't done any speed work since prior to the Avon XC champs!

DrDebs not sure how fit i am, or how icy those roads will be!!!! Well Happy :-) stuck behind Boycie at the start so i didn't go off like a loonie. The temperature was very, very cold, so lungs were shocked and my right foot was numb for 2 miles! wind in face on miles 2 and 4 really, but behind some of the way. Very ahppy with result - thanks Boycie :-) 1st lady - so picked up a bottle of Baileys for my Nan. Happy New Year :-)

Impossible is Nothing Felt rubbish at the start after a late night but after running conservatively began to feel better around 3k. Finished strongly in nice conditions - coped with hill ok. Result 24th out of 218

Colinf Good conditions. Went well with almost even splits. Couldn't have gone faster, but still strong at the end, so maybe could have gone further.
