Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Sweaty Frank Should be fun. This a flat, fast course with lots of fan support along the way.

wizlyn Awful! Struggling early at 6 miles, but held on to target pace to half way (1.27.55). Then stopped at med tent. Race over in terms of PB then, but carried on once I got the all clear. Ran the rest at a steadyish pace, most enjoyable 30-40k I think I'll ever do!! Not a great day though. Really feel that I missed out here. Should have adjusted pacing: too block-headed to move over to plan B.

paul a Struggling a little with Runners Knee which has probably put paid to my sub 3 for this one. Plan is to run by feel and see how it goes - would advise against any PB betting on this one. Last of the WMMs for me so I plan to enjoy it.

controversial Second marathon out of my 3 for autumn and only 2 weeks after berlin. I will try to go sub 3 again, but I still need to keep some energy (and try not to pick up any more injuries) so I can give it all in new york 3 weeks later.
UPDATE: mini blog of the race.

Rick OShay This is my 'big PB effort' for 08. Lots of training over those lovely summer months, then a nice flat course.

Duggie W Looking forward to it. Not planning on trying to beat my PB, just getting round in under 4 after last year's furnace. Nice flat course, brilliant atmosphere and support from the huge crowds, and weather forecast looks good, so good chance for those that are after a PB on Sunday..

Well that didn't go to plan! 11 miles of nice PB-posting pace then someone stuck a dagger in my knee, a few miles further on I was shot in the calf muscle, whilst all the time being slow-cooked in a giant furnace (for the second year in a row). But my name is not Paula so despite being like a one-legged burst tomato I completed it. Don't care about the time, at one point I didn't think I would make halfway!
