Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

More of a Tortoise Dead chuffed to get a pb although it was a real struggle - I've had a cold for a couple of weeks now and there was a killer wind out there at times. Wasn't as flat as I remembered but definitely a great race to do as everyone is so supportive - I was even getting coaching tips from the sweep marshal, how cool is that? Still need to work on not starting out too fast mind you as I slowed down each mile.
Will definitely be back next year :o)

RFJ Wanted 19:30 but is only 9 days after a marathon - well not far out, not the best of races for me, had a good first 3K, but then turned into the wind and a bit of an up hill slope for 200m and that was enough to knock me off my pace and rythym, 3:47, 3:52, 3:53, 4:03, 4:02 (should all be under 4s really so a bit disapointed) 19:39 and 67/176.

sanddancer You've got to laugh. After telling everyone not to bet on me and steadfastly refusing to bet on myself, I run another PB. Since this betting lark started I've run three races and only bet on myself once... I've PBed in all three. No doubt next time I'll bet on myself and fail miserably! Anyhow, very pleased with that. The legs still felt heavy but the lungs were willing and that proved to be enough. Went off hard to test myself but at 0.75km I had to slow myself down as I was running at a pace hitherto unheard of. A tough 4th kilometre into the wind and uphill slowed me up but by then I was well inside PB pace and I came home officially 31 seconds inside the previous PB (39 seconds on my own watch started on the line). Good to see Gobi and RFJ.
