Oh poor Honey, and difficult times for the Thornton family, no doubt. Hope the way ahead becomes clear.

Very sweet picture DT. I heard a very worrying report on the radio last night about something called 'Alabama Rot' which is a - usually - fatal illness that is affecting dogs. It's only been in the UK for about 2 years and seems to be particularly prolific (as in around a third of the cases identified of approx. 50 in the UK) in the New Forest. I know that means less than 20 in two years when many thousands of dogs must have walked there in that time but we'd been thinking of taking Wanda down there this summer and are seriously re-considering now. |

Yes, my mate Forest Plodder shared about this We need to watch out for skin lesions and any cuts need cleaning thoroughly and quickly, I gather.

Love them. Threadsters, got a problem with a furry customer. A funny sort of issue. I was out today with a newish customer and we met the dog which comes to me one day a week. Last time we met her with owner, she had to be put on lead and led away. This time she was with the relative of the owner and wouldn't leave me alone. Again had to be put on lead and she pulled back and whined. I don't think this is very healthy. I don't molly-coddle her and we have a great time when she stays. I love her to bits but I am consistent with all dogs in my care - good walks with socialisation, lots of outdoor play and plenty of exploring/sniffing. No baby talk, picking up or cuddling. Plenty of scratching behind ears and getting the dog settled down. She's a bit obsessed and gets quite agitated. What can I do to calm things down? |

My dog is always very excited to see the lady who walks her for me sometimes, that seems quite reasonable to me as she associates her with having fun, sounds similar with your furry customer. I don't know what everyone else thinks?............
