Thats not sub 3 pacing, more like 2:55. Chris, great run and PB, and 27 seconds faster than my 3:00 at VLM. A week on and I am asking myself why I didnt push on in those last 2 miles when 2 x 6:44s would have seen me go sub 3. However, on the day I know I gave it everything I had and its easy to ask the question afterwards |

I was in bed by 8.45 last night but couldn't get to sleep. Must have been the kebab I had with my fish and chips :o) Now I had said no more marathons this year so I can focus on halfs and smash London next year....this morning I'm thinking an autumn marathon attempt wouldn't be a bad idea to keep me in shape for next year. |

Got to love an Autumn marathon attempt. Best months to train in leading up to the 'A' race. Particularly the early morning Sunday long runs 😃

I'm not sure the wife will approve though... I've noticed after each of my 4 marathons that I have really sore kidneys. I can run 20 milers without this but marathons seem to cause me a problem. Does anyone else suffer from something similar? |

ha, certainly that thread has gone mental in the last month or so. or has the buzz of the spring marathons dulled slightly.

No marathons planned and having a bit of a break from running anyway.
