Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Possibly the dumbest riding i have ever seen . 6 lap race with a really hard climb and we were only on lap 2 , pretty much full peloton and people were already all over the road.

Madness of BC 2/3/4 cat racing. Not sure I BC road raced again after this. Too many people who are young and dumb

I've done lead car co-pilot for BC 2/3/4 - and the things you see behind you going to a blind bend are terrifying. Road racing on live roads is insanely dangerous - and unfair on the poor bastard motorist who hits someone through no real fault of their own.

Fair comments, I’d certainly give Road racing a swerve. MTB is the sort of 2-4 hour races and our courses round here are not too technical. I used to do off road Duathlons in winter so MTB riding is a comfort zone.

Crits = crash pretty likely but serious injuries pretty unlikely.

Feel like I need something to go at over Winter but not sure what yet.

What's the place right near you TRO? Is it Tunstall Forest or something? Mud Sweat and Gears put on some things there that I often toy with the idea of thinking about.

I did a few of the Portsmouth velodrome outdoor races but even they are dangerous - someone died and it got closed for years.

I had a big crash there Olly, wrote a bike off but walked away with nothing more that grazes.

I remember the death, very sad times

Sounds like I'd better do some cold water acclimatisation then Greps. Are you sure it wasn't after a cool summer? I had heard the swim is potentially quite muddy, especially for those of us plugging around at the back.
