The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
From the “race” POV it is fair to say that all serious contenders will have no problems gaining entry - even in the vet categories. However changing the GFA criteria mid-season sucks and that’s hard to excuse. Not just for those who are outside the new limits, but there will be others who ran comfortably to their target who now learn that it doesn’t guarantee a place.
A combination of a blog looking at the allocation of numbers for 2016 (approx 5900 FGA for 2017) and the British Athletics website citing an 800 (!) runner increase on the GFA from 2017 to 2018.
Everyone whose application is accepted should know the outcome on 15 Aug. If the Fetch GFAers post their qualifying time, age cat, and whether or not they were successful it might be feasible to estimate the "real" cut off needed to qualify for VLM 2020 if there are enough of us. Just a suggestion?
