I'm expecting a chiffchaff in the Lake District tomorrow. Definitely.
I saw the biggest group of winter thrushes of the season today. Must have been about to go home, I think. Not been many around this year; still berries on some hedgerows.

We saw a huge flock of birds today. I was driving so couldn't see but my guess was redwing and / fieldfare getting together ready to nip home for the summer. Like you jacdaw I've barely seen any all winter. Not a whisper of waxwing this time either

Chiffchaffs in garden, several kites & buzzards around, no swallows yet but to my surprise, some fieldfares yesterday, I thought they'd gone. Birds very noisy this morningš

those late winter thrushes were a bonus to see jacdaw and DTup...none around here, but we've got all the Chiffchaffs DerbyT!!! Go get yours this weekend! I chuckled at your mix ups Kinky....what about the Storks and Cuckoos people out there see or hear?! (Herons and Collared Doves!). But what the heck, seeing them whatever they're called is fab. Cetti's in a box for you soon!!

Finally spotted the gold rest at the park again this morning. Pair of them
Chiffchaff singing away too.
Did anyone see the RSPB April fools post going around about renaming birds to make them easier to name? I've been calling goldfinch 'jam face birds' ever since
