I just bought a Felt F95, like you I hadnt ridden a racer for years so was in a quandry one which one to go for, originally was looking at the Ribble 7005 which was right at the top of my price range but after looking round settled on the Felt, it has a carbon fork which soaks up a bit of road vibration but no carbon seatpost, first upgrade :) the speciallised bikes look good and they were certainly on my list, there was a Bianchi at my local bike shop in the same price range, sorry cant remember the model number but the dealer put me off it as the new frame wasnt as good as the previous models and that the Felt was a better bet all round, Cycling Plus mag did a test of bikes in the price range youre looking at and the speciallized allez came out top, check here for a load more info bikeradar.com good luck.

I have a Bianchi like that; but with carbon seat stays and Campag groupset. It is a nice bike; I bought it partly because I like Bianchi, but mostly because it fitted me better than the alternatives I was looking at (Orbea and Giant).

It may not be as comfortable as my old steel Orbit, however...

I got the secteur elite in preference to the allez on the grounds that Cornish roads are crap and you need a bit more grunt, a bit less speed on them. Happy with the bike so far, gear changes occasionally a bit rough, and if I'd gone one up I think the ride would have been a bit less bumpy with carbon forks rather than just carbon fork legs, but nice bike.

I bought an Allez Elite on the C2W scheme a couple of years ago and think its a great starter bike. Have since bought a Giant TCR advanced but use the Specialised as my main training bike.....would highly recommend it for the price. Looking to upgrade it soon but will have it for a few more years. Enjoy it when you decide which one....I got hooked! ;-)

I race the Allez but I got the E5 frame and put Dura Race and Richley WCS components on. 404 wheels make any bike a better bike

I have a transition TT bike which needs an upgrade and a Crux Elite Cyclo X bike which I expect to race this winter

Hey Magoo, you well ?
